Submitter comment
The modERN consortia has concluded that the anti-GFP antibody Ab290 (Abcam) is suitable for ChIP-seq in C. elegans and D. melanogaster. ENCODE has not accepted immunofluorescence as a valid assay for antibody specificity. However, we have found that immunofluorescence on GFP tagged lines using Ab290 can recapitulate expression patterns generated by RNA in situ hybridization. Furthermore, several unpublished concordant ChIP-seq datasets have been previously generated with Ab290 and either TF specific antibodies or other ENCODE-validated anti-GFP antibodies.ENCFF261RMY, ENCFF717BTC, ENCFF862TOV, ENCFF189RUN, ENCFF349XWD and ENCFF090MRH were originally associated with this experiment but actually belong to ENCSR484YRI.
