Antigen description
Insulators, chromatin boundaries. Rabbit mAb detects endogenous levels of total CTCF protein. This antibody does not cross-react with BORIS and was produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the carboxy terminus of the human CTCF protein.

Caption
"Western blot analysis of extracts from HeLa cells, transfected with 100 nM SignalSilence® Control siRNA (Unconjugated) #6568 (-) or SignalSilence® CTCF siRNA I (+), using CTCF (D31H2) XP® Rabbit mAb #3418 (upper) or -Tubulin (11H10) Rabbit mAb #2125 (lower). The CTCF (D31H2) XP® Rabbit mAb confirms silencing of CTCF expression, while the -Tubulin (11H10) Rabbit mAb is used as a loading control."
Submitter comment
This characterization was provided by the vendor for lot 1 of this antibody. We submitted it to the ENCODE Antibody Review Panel and it was allowed to be used as a supporting siRNA knockdown charcterization.

CTCF (Homo sapiens)
epithelial cell of prostate
Method: immunoprecipitation
Attachment from submitter
exempt from standards
Caption
The prostate epithelial cells were limiting and no more were available for primary characterizations.
Submitter comment
These prostate epithelial cells were limiting and we do not have more to use for antibody characterizations.
Reviewer comment
An exemption was made by the antibody review panel on June 19, 2017 under subsection a) "Additional situations for Primary Characterization", as these primary cells were limiting and no more were available for antibody characterizations.
